Finnegan, named “Global IP Firm of the Decade” by Managing Intellectual Property, is seeking a marketing and business development specialist to join our dynamic Marketing Department in our Boston office. This position will assist the marketing team members and attorneys with marketing needs and requests for the Boston and Reston, VA offices, as well as a practice group focused on litigation efforts at the firm. The position will support firm-wide initiatives related to data analysis on the firm’s top clients.
This position advises and supports the Boston and Reston, VA offices on marketing, external communications, business development, and client relations activities. The specialist works with the chief marketing officer, other managers, and attorneys to ensure that all practice and industry initiatives align with the firm’s overall strategy.
Responsibilities include: oversight of all Boston and Reston, VA office events, including technical execution of webinars, developing mailing lists, tracking RSVPs and attendees in CRM system, and providing onsite support; draft and post event summaries on the firm’s website and other internal tracking systems; identify and assist with evaluation of regional firm sponsorships and topics for events, speaking engagements, and external communications; collaborate with attorneys in preparing responses to RFPs, RFIs, and pitches to prospective and existing clients and follow-up on the outcome; conduct research and compile relevant information regarding existing and prospective clients, competitor activity, and industry and market trends to aid in the development of marketing plans and strategy, presentations, proposals, and survey responses; play an integral role in developing and implementing the Boston and Reston, VA office business development plans, individual attorney businessplans, related activities, and track new business and clients generated by the Boston and Reston, VA office.
Successful candidates must have a degree in marketing or communications; experience with data analysis; three to six years of experience with professional services marketing; experience with events planning and management, client relations, business development, public relations and external communications, marketing technologies, including social media; excellent experience with Windows-based word processing, database programs, spreadsheets and document management systems and high proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Must be detailed and organized, and willing to travel; and have excellent grammatical and proofreading skills, an ability to deal courteously and efficiently with attorneys, clients, staff, and outside vendors and professional peers, an ability to work under pressure, meet frequent deadlines, and prioritize multiple tasks, and the willingness to be a team player.
