M&BD Strategy and Operations • Working alongside U.S. Corporate Leadership to develop robust M&BD plans and programs, in line with the CPG's overall business strategy and objectives. • Developing the necessary infrastructure, systems and programs to establish best practice approaches to all key elements of Marketing and Business Development across the U.S. CPG. • Coaching, mentoring and developing the dedicated U.S. CPG M&D team. • Leading on U.S. CPG M&BD budget planning, monitoring and measurement. • Providing support on other strategic business development and profile raising initiatives as needed. Client Targeting, Business Generation and Client Listening • Developing Corporate Practice relationships across the U.S. and beyond, including supporting on Northern California integration efforts following the recruitment of a Tier 1 team into Silicon Valley. • Advising on new business opportunities, providing support on the development of our proposition, approach, team, and supporting materials. • Co-leading the CPG's global client listening program, in conjunction with the CPG's UK Senior Manager, with a focus on overall relationship, post-matter and post-pitch reviews. Pitching • Creating strategies for, and managing responses to RFPs, customized pitches, and business development presentations. • Developing strong standard credentials and off the shelf material regionally and globally to support on other CPG outreach. • Developing and promoting pitching best practice across the U.S. CPG. • Preparing pitch teams for presentations, and carrying out post-pitch reviews. Marketing and Profile Raising • Managing the implementation of marketing programs and campaigns to raise the profile of the CPG in the U.S. and globally, leveraging thought-leadership, sponsorship, PR and targeted event programs. • Ensuring that relevant directory submissions are completed to the highest standard, leveraging the U.S. CPG M&D team and the firm's best practice in doing so. • Working with the communications team to build profile for the U.S. CPG by publicizing victories, news items, events, and relevant articles. • Contributing to the broader global CPG internal communications plan to raise profile and awareness. Wider BD projects • Managing and contributing to wider CPG projects as required, in conjunction with the Global CPG Head of Business Management and the UK CPG M&BD Team Lead. • Managing and contributing to wider M&BD projects as required. • All members of the firm are expected to participate in our Global Citizenship program. • And other duties as assigned.
• 15+ years of relevant experience preferred, preferably in the legal services industry. • Experience of working in a Corporate Transactional practice highly desirable. • Bachelor’s degree from a reputable institution. • Solid functional experience in business development, client development and marketing. • Able to think strategically, commercially and with initiative. • Pragmatic, diplomatic and resourceful, able to adapt to different situations and personalities. • Strong organizational skills, able to prioritize and complete projects with light supervision. • Excellent inter-personal and internal and external client-facing skills. • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate, nurture, and inspire teams. • Excellent writing and presentation skills and an exacting attention to detail in all outputs. • Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure.
