Regional Marketing Specialist
This position supports the New Jersey, New York City, Albany, Westchester County and Delaware offices with a primary focus on NJ. The position is based in the New Jersey office and requires spending one day per week in the New York office.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work hand in hand with the Regional Manager, marketing leadership and office leadership to develop and implement the marketing and business development initiatives for NJ.
  • Work as part of a team to support local practice groups and attorneys in developing and delivering strategic marketing and business development plans/programs and in cross marketing initiatives for the region. 
  • Lead, manage, execute and deliver proposals and RFPs that are initiated by lawyers in the offices in coordination with practice group managers and the national business development services team.
  • Coordinate responses to marketing surveys, directories and nominations.
  • Identify and assess targeted opportunities for the NJ office, local practice groups and individual attorneys to become involved with/leverage relationships with community organizations.
  • Assist with and manage a variety of short and long term projects and attorney requests.
  • Write, edit, proof, and distribute internal newsletters, client updates, practice area description updates, news and activities data, press releases, etc.  and other client communications.
  • Develop relationships with key NJ attorneys to serve as point of contact for day-to-day requests and marketing and business development needs and understand the local practices, office initiatives and representations of key clients.
  • Assist with new attorney integration, review and edit announcements of new attorneys, bios, news/press releases and related marketing materials.
  • Evaluate local sponsorship opportunities based in ROI and strategic criteria and collaborate with the events team as necessary on the preparation of seminar materials and conference book ads.  Assist with logistics as needed.
  • Understand the ethics rules involved in legal services marketing and business development.
  • Providing back-up services to the department on as-needed basis.

Skills & Competencies

Candidate must be a motivated self-starter, who is flexible, innovative, collaborative, resourceful and creative.  The ability to think strategically and take ownership of projects, strong organization skills and attention to detail are essential.  This candidate must be able to multi-task and prioritize as well as a strong client service orientation.  This role requires working well in a team environment as well as independently.

Qualifications & Prior Experience

Bachelor's degree is required.  The ideal candidate will have 4-7 years in marketing or business development.  Experience at a law firm or other professional services firm is preferred.  Candidates must also have a high level of proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint with excellent oral and written communications skills.
