Principal Consultant - Professional Services
Principal Consultants in the professional services practice at GrowthPlay are integral members of a fast-paced, collaborative, and energized team working to produce meaningful and measurable outcomes through coaching, training and consulting services.

Typical clients include lawyers, accountants, wealth advisors and other professional services providers. Throughout the last 16 years, our work in this space has allowed numerous professional services providers to find their authentic voice and approach to business development while contributing to their organizations' business objectives. Our team members utilize GrowthPlay's proprietary methodology in combination with their own experience, initiative, and care to drive client experiences that achieve our clients' needs. This position is responsible for assisting on a wide variety of client facing projects. In a client facing role, the Principal Consultant may be assigned to coach, train or assist with consulting engagements as directed by a Managing Director.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to...

  • Support Managing Directors on strategic consulting projects through documentation, revision and preparation of client deliverables as directed and/or supervising associate consultants on first drafts as required
  • Serve as day-to-day client contact for projects, or as appropriate to role on project
  • Create and update project plans for key stakeholders, internal and external
  • Coach practitioners one-on-one or in small groups on business development
  • Facilitate the delivery of business development training workshops
  • Conduct interviews with practitioners and practitioner clients and analyse/synthesize insights to make actionable recommendations
  • Contribute to practice's thought leadership initiatives in collaboration with marketing
  • Contribute to and represent the firm's culture and brand inside and outside of the organization by being a walking audition for a GrowthPlay client experience
  • Mentor and coach junior team members on methodology and client experience standards
  • Manage own time, meet deadlines, and escalate issues to Managing Directors, as needed

  • 7+ years of experience in business development consulting, training, and/or coaching with lawyers or other professional service practitioners
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Experience working as part of a team and independently
  • Experience in leading training and/or significant projects
  • Experience and resiliency in working in a dynamic environment and situations
  • Strong verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to anticipate client and team needs and manage expectations accordingly
  • Ability to problem solve and proven track record of flexing to different personality types
  • Travel up to 70% during peak times
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint
