ACC Minnesota Executive Director
The Association of Corporate Counsel Minnesota Executive Director position is a contract position that provides a wide variety of support to the Chapter. The successful candidate will be a dynamic leader who can help advance the overall goals of the organization while meeting the needs of its current members. Prior experience working with legal organizations and law firms is preferred but not required. The position offers the right candidate a flexible schedule requiring 20-30 hours per week.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as the Board of Directors may deem necessary from time to time.

  1. Develop and implement programs and other services for Chapter members
  2. Coordinate the Chapter’s sponsorship campaign and serve as the primary liaison between the Chapter and its sponsors
  3. Develop and implement marketing plans to include:
  • Marketing existing programs to members
  • Developing strategies to increase membership of the Chapter
  • Reviewing and processing feedback from members on the success of Chapter Programs and member needs
  1. Manage and seek continual improvement of new Chapter core processes such as:
  • Program web casting
  • Chapter website
  • Out of state program development and outreach
  1. Organize and carry out an annual board retreat to develop Chapter’s strategic plan
  • Execute strategic plan and track its progress
  • Assist Committees in execution of annual goals and objectives
  1. Assist President and Board in recruiting in-house attorneys to serve as Board and Committee members
  2. Develop agendas for organizational meetings
  • Create agenda and attend Board meetings
  • Coordinate and on occasion, attend Committee meetings
  • Assist in budgeting and tracking expenditures against goals
  1. Handle Chapter Administrator duties or work with and manage a third party for provision of same
  • Facilitate payment of obligations
  • Coordinate the location and all other aspects of Chapter events
  1. Evaluate benefits of outreach to other legal organizations in Minnesota and beyond
  2. Coordinate with national Association of Corporate Counsel organization on new programs and priorities
  3. Programming
  • Coordinate topics with Education Committee liaison
  • Coordinate all program logistics and promotion
  • Attend all events and handle all on-site logistics including registration

Summary
Under the direction of the President and the Board of Directors, this position directs activities to coordinate the functions of various programs within the philosophy of ACC MN by performing the following duties.

Education and/or Experience
Requires education generally equivalent to a bachelor's degree and five years related experience and/or training with a preference for experience working with or in legal organizations.

ACC MN serves as a valuable resource to its more than 700 in-house counsel members, representing more than 245 companies from legal departments ranging from small companies with one lawyer to global Fortune 100 companies. The chapter provides CLE courses, networking and social events, practice interest groups, special GC/CLO programming, pro bono and community service events, access to CLE program materials and much more. ACC Minnesota has at least two events on the calendar nearly every month, which give members plenty of opportunities to network, learn and contribute.
