Business Development Specialist (Proposals, Publications and Recognitions)
Snell & Wilmer, one of the largest and most prestigious law firms in the western United States, seeks a business development specialist who is an accomplished writer. The specialist will provide high-level support to the director and managers in marketing and business development, as well as firm lawyers, in connection with managing the RFP response and proposal process. The specialist will also be responsible for drafting, editing and publishing electronic and print content.

 

Managing the RFP response and client proposal process: includes meeting with the responsible attorneys and then managing the response process, writing and editing copy as needed for the RFP responses and proposals which includes the drafting of cover letters and other tailored materials

Providing support for pricing requests for new business, through pitches, proposals and other sources

Managing the pitch and proposal database and tracking all activity and materials, including follow up with team members to determine status and/or next steps

Managing the firm’s responses to directories, surveys and ranking requests, including managing the overall effort and crafting concise and informative responses

Supporting the marketing team and firm attorneys with research and client pitch preparation

Updating and managing the representative client and reference database

Managing attorney bios; working with new attorneys to draft and post bios, practice descriptions and content for the web site and other publications

Participating in projects, process improvements or other initiatives as assigned

 



Specific Requirements

 

At least four (4) years’ minimum experience with professional services and/or business-to-business marketing experience - either with "Big 4" accounting background, other law firms (preferred), consulting firms, etc. preferred; agency experience also relevant

Undergraduate degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field required

Excellent writing, communication (both written and verbal) and follow-up skills are essential. (AP editing standards experience preferred)

Marketing communications experience, with preferred collateral and proposal experience

Strong computer skills including advanced knowledge of MS Office, CRM systems (Interaction preferred), email marketing campaign systems, etc.

Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment

Strong organizational skills and detail oriented, with the ability to organize, prioritize and complete simultaneous projects with minimal supervision, as well as meet deadlines with flexibility for shifting demands

Willingness to be action and results oriented

Resourceful in resolving problems
